New Android handset confirmed for T-Mobile

But what will it be?

New Android handset confirmed for T-Mobile
|

T-Mobile has confirmed that the successor to the Android-powered G1 is on it its way, although it’s remaining tight lipped as to what form it’ll take.

You might assume that it would be the ‘G2’, as it was unofficially dubbed a few months back, which turned out to be the Vodafone-exclusive HTC Magic. However, doubts continue as to the length of the exclusivity deal with the rival operator, which could well have thrown a spanner in the works.

Another suggestion is that HTC could be building an upgraded G1 handset for T-Mobile, with a superior screen and no QWERTY keyboard.

There are even rumours that T-Mobile could be ditching HTC altogether in favour of Huawei (who, incidentally, made the T-Mobile broadband dongle I just bought) and their U8230 handset.

Basically, no one knows anything about it. Got that?
