The NES-sized iCade 8-Bitty wireless controller is now available

Earlier this year, Ion Audio announced that it would roll out a new line of iCade products for iOS and Android devices.

One of these - which we began following back in February - was the attractive 8-Bitty, a wireless retro controller that looks and feels distinctly like an old NES-style controller right down to the angular corners.

After eight months of silence and pre-orders, the 8-Bitty is now shipping from Thinkgeek - although the price has jumped up slightly from $24.99 to $29.99.

Because the 8-Bitty is an iCade product, it is compatible with the 100 games in Atari's Greatest Hits collection but it will also support titles like Temple Run, Muffin Knight, and Mos Speedrun among many others.

The 8-Bitty runs on 2 x AAA batteries (which are not included) and features eight control buttons in addition to a directional pad for movement.
