[Update] Chase some adorable emojis in Phil Hassey's newest title emoj.io, out now on iOS

Updated 13th October, 11:54 AM: The adventurous addition to the .io genre/gametype, emoj.io has just launched on iOS. Android will most likely be coming later today.

Grab it free-to-play here on the App Store now.

With the influx of .io games to hit the App Store this year, this one may not be everyone's cup of tea but it does look interesting.

Emoj.io brings all of the competitive nature of the previous .io games and combines it with the classic structure of Pac-Man. Only, you're not running away from ghosts this time; you're running away from other players.

The aim of the game is to eat up gems and rack up your score, collecting power-ups as you go. As well as getting strong enough to start devouring the meeker competitors, all the while avoiding your own inevitable demise, you've also got to watch your back. Even if a player is weaker than you, they could have just the right power-up to grind your emoji bones into dust.

The inclusion of the Pac-Man maze means that you've got to be quick and play your cards right, hopefully avoiding a sandwich situation between two fellas who happen to have luck on their side. You can also unlock new emojis through ads and by IAPs; the usual line-up for a free-to-play game.

If you fancy trying it for yourself emoj.io will be coming to iOS and Android on the 13th October.
