Mforma has announced the release of the mobile version of Call Of Duty 2, the popular military shooter that's been campaigning on PC, Xbox and PS2 recently. Well, popular among men of a certain age who wear camouflage gear at all times, despite living with their mums and working in middle management. But we digress.

The mobile game’s storyline closely follows the console version, so expect squad-based WWII action that lets you play as British, Russian or American soldiers in locations like North Africa and Normandy. There are 12 missions to complete, culminating in a final shoot-out on the banks of the Rhine in 1945.

There’s also a bunch of weapons to use – including postols, sub-machine guns, sniper rifles and frag grenades. “Cinematic intensity” is the buzz-phrase used repeatedly in the press release, which we assume means the game also features thousand-strong orc armies, a bespectacled boy-wizard, and some gay cowboys. Maybe.

The game’s out now on an operator portal near you.
