Along with a new Xperia smartphone, Sony has announced a new Xperia tablet at MWC in Barcelona. It's called the Xperia Z2 Tablet, and it's a big shiny slab of Android-powered tablet-y fun.

Apparently, it's the world's slimmest and lightest waterproof tablet. So, if you're sick of snorkelling with porky devices, you're going to be in luck.

Key facts:

Under the hood - Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset (2.3GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 330 graphics) and 3GB of RAM
Camera - 8.1-megapixel Exmor RS rear camera and 2.2-megapixel front camera
Operating system - Android 4.4.2 (KitKat)
Special features - Waterproof, light (WiFi 426g, 4G 439g), thin (6.4mm)
Release date - Available in Europe at the end of March. Sony has yet to reveal its Xperia Z2 Tablet plans for other territories
