A little premature, don't you think?

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini has fended off the competition to be crowned best European mobile phone for 2010-2011 by the EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association).

The overall selection for the award was made by 50 special-interest magazines from across Europe.

Judges chose the Android-powered handset for its compact size, performance, and range of features. These include GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G, and a 5-megapixel camera with flash.

The award follows on from another victory for the device, as the Xperia X10 Mini won the Red Dot Product Design Award for 2010.

Some might feel that the timing of the EISA award is a little premature. By the time the end of 2011 rolls around the Xperia X10 mini could well be considered old hat.
