Konami's X-Men arrives on the Android Market, vanishes from the UK iOS App Store
Kaplaaar!
Not a company for hyping, or even announcing re-releases, Konami has released the 1992 classic X-Men on Android for £1.79/$2.99, having released it on iPhone earlier this week.
If you've played the 1992 original, then you may or may not be pleased to know that this version is unchanged.
You play the goodies (one of Cyclops, Colossus, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, or Dazzler) and aim to slash and maul your way through wave after wave of Magneto's sentient pawns.
Boss battles with Pyro, The Blob, Wendigo, and others provide an additional challenge before you come head to head with Magneto himself.
In a move implying that it's logically impossible for X-Men to appear on two platforms simultaneously on British soil, the game has been pulled from the UK App Store. It appears still to be available in the US, for $2.99. We've contacted Konami for comment.
On Android, meanwhile, it costs £1.82. Download X-Men for Android here.
