Wild Rift Lunar Beast Event Guide: How to earn Lunar Tokens

With the Chinese New Year just around the corner (February 12th), Wild Rift launched its first Lunar event. You might already be familiar with the previous Lunar events in League of Legends (Firecracker Jinx, Lunar Wraith Morgana, and many others) - these events are celebrated by releasing some new amazing Chinese-themed skins, wards, and other similar accessories.

Fun fact: the Lunar Beast event is the theme for the current TFT set as well (TFT Set 4.5). So if you've played that before, you already know what some of the skins released during this event look like.

Today we'll explore the Lunar Beast event and give you a complete Wild Rift Lunar Beast event guide, so you know exactly what you should do and how to better spend your Lunar Tokens (the event currency).

Event period: The event starts on the 3rd of February 2021 (at 18:01) and will end on the 2nd of March 2021 (at 18:00).

Wild Rift Lunar Beast event overview

During this event, players will have to complete specific missions in order to level up the Lunar Relics. What are Lunar Relics, you might ask? Well, think of them as event milestones (to put it very simply). Once you complete Relic-specific missions, the Relics will level up and you'll claim the rewards associated with them.

You can level up multiple Relics, but can only select one at a time in order to complete a specific mission. For example, if you want to level up the Lunar Axe, you'll have to destroy turrets and win games in under 15 minutes.

Simple enough, right? Well, let's take a more detailed look at them!

To start, there are six Relics: The Lunar Gauntlets, the Lunar Spear, the Lunar Flintlocks, Lunar Blade, Lunar Bear, and Lunar Axe. Each of them except for Lunar Gauntlets can be upgraded to level 5 and will reward you with Lunar Tokens for each level.

Which one should you level up first?

To be completely honest with you, it doesn't matter which one you go for first. Eventually, you'll want to complete all of them, so you need to start with something.

If you want some easy missions for starters, you should begin with the Lunar Flintlocks which grant you points no matter if you win or lose. Moreover, if you play with a friend or two, this is the best one to start with.

Secondly, you should go for Lunar Axe, since it's one of the easiest to farm for (the 3 point mission). You could even go for this one first. Just make sure you leave Lunar Blade for last since that's the hardest one to farm for - it's quite reliant on your teammates as well, and you might compete with them for the MVP/SVP award.

How to swap the Relic?

I keep talking about Relics and missions, but I haven't mentioned swapping them yet. Simply head on to Headquarters and select a weapon of your choice. Then, select the little sword with a swoosh icon underneath the weapon's image. It's as simple as that!

What's the most efficient way to farm the Lunar Beast Tokens?

I've played plenty of games, and guess what? If all you want to do is farm the points, then hop into a Normal bot game (on Intro) and you'll complete all missions in little to no time! There are so many players doing that at the moment, so the queue timers are just a couple of seconds!

Long story short, the Co-op vs AI Intro games count for the missions! (and they're good practice if you're new at the game)

Of course, you should check our Tier List if you are curious which champions are a current meta!

What should you exchange Lunar Tokens for?

Since most of the rewards are poses for specific skins (and some accessories), I would suggest saving up the Lunar Tokens for the new champions (Xayah and Rakan), and getting a pose for one of your favorite skins.

If none of that appeals to you too much, then you could save up Lunar Tokens for the Lunar Beast Random Skin Chest - however, keep in mind that it's a lotto! So you might not get the exact skin you want (it's not a Selection chest but a random one).
