LoL: Wild Rift Alistar Champion Guide: Best build, items, and everything you need to know
Updated: July 27, 2021

In this League of Legends: Wild Rift Alistar guide you'll find everything you need to know about the champion, from his skills and how to allocate them to his build, skill combo, and runes. Here is what you will find in the Alistar guide below:

Alistar is a support champion in WIld Rift that can make even the bravest of front-liners jump to the back - not because they want to, but because he'll headbutt them out of any fight! The Minotaur, also known as Alistar, is our next champion on the list, and a truly mighty one at that.

This champion is fun to play, quite beginner-friendly, and can turn the tide of any fight in his favor (or rather, in his team's favor). Alistar is ideal if your team needs engage support who is also able to tank and provide plenty of utility. In Wild Rift especially, Alistar is super powerful because his basic combo can be easily executed at the targeted location (or on the champion of your choice) by simply locking onto the target!

League of Legends: Wild Rift Alistar skills

Triumphant Roar (Passive)

Alistar charges his roar by stunning or displacing enemy champions or when nearby enemies die. When fully charged he heals himself and nearby allied champions.

Pulverize (Skill 1)

Alistar smashes the ground, dealing damage to nearby enemies and tossing them into the air.

Headbutt (Skill 2)

Alistar rams a target with his head, dealing damage and knocking the target back. May also target turrets to deal bonus damage.

Trample (Skill 3)

Alistar tramples nearby enemy units, ignoring unit collision and gaining stacks if he damages an enemy champion. At full stacks, Alistar's next basic attack against an enemy champion deals additional magic damage and stuns them.

Unbreakable Will (Skill 4 / Ultimate)

Alistar lets out a wild roar, removing all crowd control effects on himself, and reducing incoming physical and magical damage for the duration.

How to combo as Alistar

Alistar has some very important combos, and believe it or not; they are really easy to pull off even as a complete beginner!

- Skill 2 -> Skill 1 (the core Alistar combo)

This is the basic headbutt combo, which uses the actual Headbutt skill (Skill 2) and then, in quick succession, Pulverize (Skill 1) to lock the target in said place and knock them up. You can cast Skill 1 while Alistar is in mid-air to automatically cast it the moment he lands upon his target.

- Flash -> Skill 2 -> Skill 1

In essence, this is the same combo as the previously mentioned one, except it's got an extended range by the use of Flash. It is an ideal combo when you want to start a team fight or when you want to take enemies by surprise. If you practice enough, you could even pull it off by flashing over a wall.

- Skill 3 -> Skill 2 -> Skill 1 -> Auto-attack

With this combo, you want to activate Trample (Skill 3) and once the bar is full, you will auto-attack the target champion to stun them in place. You can easily pull it off by doing the core Alistar combo for a 100%-guaranteed stun.

When to use Skill 4 (ultimate):

Now Alistar's ultimate doesn't have any particularly wow effects - it just makes him tankier, which can be used in many different situations. You should only use it under specific circumstances (like team fights) because it's a really powerful spell that will beef up Alistar!

  • Use it when you want to act like a shield for your team and mitigate incoming damage
  • Use it when tanking tower shots (if your team wants to tower-dive the opponents or if you're caught in a difficult situation)
  • Use it when you start a team fight and you dive in the middle of the enemy team
  • Use it when you need additional damage reduction or if you're in a difficult situation and you can try to escape

What's the best order to level up the skills?

On Alistar, you want to max out your Skill 1 first, then Skill 2, and finally your Skill 3.

  • Level 1: Skill 1
  • Level 2: Skill 2
  • Level 3: Skill 3
  • Level 4: Skill 1
  • Level 5: Skill 4
  • Level 6: Skill 1
  • Level 7: Skill 1

Keep leveling Skill 1 until it's maxed, then focus on Skill 2, and lastly on Skill 3. Of course, whenever you can, you want to add 1 point into your Skill 4 (ultimate).

The best summoner spells

Exhaust: Exhausts the target enemy champion, reducing their movement speed by 20% and their damage dealt by 40% for 2.5 seconds.

Flash: Teleport a short distance forward or towards the aimed direction.

item build

On Alistar, you want all the tanky items you can find. He will do alright even with Winter's Approach which can be good for the additional shield, but if the enemy has doesn't have that much AD, then you can look at items that give you more Magic Resist, such as Adaptive Helm.

Boots Ionian Locket will be your main pick since Alistar needs all the cooldown reduction he can get.  Ionian Glory is great if you want some extra movement speed when catching up with fast enemies.  Ionian Stoneplate is another great option if you want to be even beefier!
