If you live in Canada, you can turn your phone into a weapon right now 'courtesy' of Ubisoft's new game Watch Dogs Live.

Yep, this is the very same companion app for Ubisoft's upcoming console hack-'em-up Watch Dogs that we reported on late last week.

In this brand-new location-based hacking game - which Ubisoft has just soft-launched in Canada - you unlock data by visiting certain real-life locations.

You'll earn money for 'controlling' a location. You can then use this earned currency to level-up your hacking skills.

Your position on an in-game leaderboard will then be determined by how much data you have unlocked and how much dough you have accumulated.

It's not all about the glory of being #1 on that leaderboard, mind. If you're at the top of the leaderboard come the end of the game, then you'll have a chance to win a car.

Not a DLC car, by the way. Nope, we're talking a real-life Watch Dogs-branded Scion.

There are weekly challenges, too, with real-world rewards up for grabs. And in the real-time monthly missions, you can play with other gamers to further the cause of the game's made-up hacking faction Deadsec.

As of now, Watch Dogs Live is only available on the Canadian App Store, which suggests a worldwide rollout will take place in the not-too-distant future.

The game will be available for both Android and iOS devices. We'll let you know when it's available globally. Of course.
