War Planet Online's upcoming Update 50 will introduce new Hero Ayaka

War Planet Online has announced a new character that will arrive in the popular MMO soon. Her name is Ayaka, and she carries the title 'The Mech Marvel of Noto.' She will make her debut in the game as part of the upcoming Update 50 alongside a host of new Drones and Mechs.

Born Ayo Davis, her parents moved to Japan in an attempt to avoid combat but were tragically killed in a car crash. Ayaka survived, though she also lost her left arm in the accident. A man called Shuusei Rintarou, who was rumoured to have worked as a weapons engineer, adopted her.

He gave Ayo the nickname Ayaka, which means colourful flower. She stopped speaking in the wake of the crash, meaning he couldn't learn her real name. He also taught her everything there was to know about engineering, including creating her a prosthetic arm. With all this knowledge, Ayaka went on to create robots that could lift and transport heavy machinery.

Gameplay-wise, Ayaka looks to play a supporting role on the battlefield. Her Skill 1 is called Empyreal Arsenal, an ability that allows Mech units to reduce the enemy stack's armor for the entirety of the battle. Meanwhile, her Skill 2 provides a shield for Mech units every two turns.

Ayaka was created by Valeriia Kapelyush, a winner of the second edition of Gameloft's internal art contest “We Could Be Heroes”. The initiative aims to support diversity in the company's games by encouraging employees to design heroes who represent communities that aren't widely represented in the industry.

War Planet Online is now available on the App Store and Google Play as a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. You can download it for your preferred platform using the links below.
