Ho ho ho - Merry Christmas! No, I'm not Santa Claus - but I do have gifts for you this festive period! Pocket Gamer is running its very own Advent Calendar, you see, and we're giving away free codes for the very best premium games mobile had to offer this year.

Vulture Island

Today, on day four, we're featuring Vulture Island, a platformer by the excellent Donut Games - of Traps n' Gemstones fame.

The focus here is as much on exploration as on jumping on stuff - with a multitude of different environments to wander around in as you solve puzzles and perform tasks for a bunch of colourful NPCs.

And yes - you guessed it! We gave this a Gold Award at review, and described it as: "A challenging retro platformer whose nonlinear structure is both a rewarding aspect and a potential source of frustration".

I want to play it now!

Patience, child. To get your grubby little mitts on one of the codes we have to offer, simply join the App Army here, then write your Facebook name in the comments below. It really is as simple as that.

Just make sure to let us know your preference between an iOS and Android code!

We're dishing these codes out on a first-come, first-served basis, but if you've received an Advent Calendar code already, chances are you'll be overlooked in favour of someone who hasn't. Can't say fairer than that, really - though we'd encourage you still turn up to try!

Anyway, Merry Christmas all! And we hope the selected few enjoy their copies of the awesome Vulture Island.

The App Army is Pocket Gamer's very own community of mobile game experts. Each week, we provide them with a bunch of free codes and early access to the hottest upcoming games so they can provide their thoughts in features like this. We also host regular community-driven events with them in mind like tournaments, giveaways, and multiplayer evenings. To join, simply follow this link to the page on Facebook and request access. We'll get you in right away!
