Big Indie Pitch winner Voxel Rush: 3D Racer now available for free on iOS and Android

HyperBees's Voxel Rush: 3D Racer was crowned the Big Indie Pitch winner back in October 2013.

After some delay, it's finally popped up on iOS so you can see what the fuss was about. It has been on Android as well since February, just so you know.

Voxel Rush is played in first-person and is entirely tilt-based. You attempt to race through an abstract horizontal plane populated with voxel pillars.

You get points for driving close to the pillars without hitting them. There are also cubes to collect that give you points, but some also give you temporary invincibility or slow down time.

Along the way some events will occur to shake things up, literally. Pillars collapse, you're funnelled into a narrow tunnel, or gravity is inverted for a short spell. Surviving these grants you even more points.

It's a game of endurance, then. You'll want to hone your reaction times and replay Voxel Rush over and over.

Unfortunately, there's no in-game purpose to keep playing, other than spending the credits you've earned on the occasional upgrade.

But they're priced so high that you're better off relying on your own skills, unless you want to fork out real cash for extra credits to spend.

Voxel Rush: 3D Racer is available to download for free on the App Store [download] and Google Play [download].
