In Virginia by Variable State, players are cast as a still green FBI agent assigned to investigate the strange disappearance of a young boy in a rural town in Virginia.

Featuring an original mystery-themed storyline set in the state of Virginia during the 1990s, Virginia is now available to stream on NVIDIA SHIELD via GeForce NOW for $9.99. If you purchase the game on GeForce NOW, you’ll also automatically get a free code to download the game on PC.

While Virginia features characters and a setting grounded in reality, its storyline isn’t afraid to delve into the strange and unexplained. In fact, its developer Variable State explained that the game takes creative inspiration from supernaturally-charged crime dramas popular during the 1990s including Twin Peaks, The X-Files and The Outer Limits.

During your ongoing investigation into the whereabouts of the missing child and the truth behind his disappearance, players will cross paths with a variety of characters, some of whom aren’t keen to tell you the whole truth. As the game begins, players will find themselves in a world where reality and mystery are often intermingled.

The game features vibrant stylized visuals and art direction that lend a surreal quality to its otherwise realistic setting and storytelling. Composer Lyndon Holland has also created an atmospheric soundtrack that brings another layer to the experience of playing Virginia.

Virginia is now available to stream on SHIELD devices including SHIELD Android TV via NVIDIA’s cloud-based GeForce NOW.
