Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past is a side-scrolling adventure coming to iOS and Android in May

This is about as surprising as a party on your Birthday, but Marvel has announced a tie-in mobile game for forthcoming moving picture Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Marvel has partnered with GlitchSoft for this upcoming mobile game, which we're told is 2D and side-scrolling, with a focus on story.

It seems peculiar that the genre hasn't been specified. But given that this is an X-Men game, we're sure there will be plenty of action. Probably a bit of fighting, too.

From the future

What we do know for certain is that it will be based on the Days of Future Past story arc, which was published in 1980 as part of the popular Uncanny X-Men comics.

Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past

As such, it should be following the events surrounding Kitty Pryde. She's a mutant in the present day, who is overtaken by the mind of her older self.

With the knowledge of what's to happen in the future, Kitty then attempts to prevent a moment in history that turns everyone against mutants.

As with the film, Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past will arrive in May, and that will be on iOS and Android.

Look out for more information on the game's website.
