The Autobots and Decepticons are currently duking it out on iOS and Android, in new Mobage card-battler Transformers Legends.

But rather than morphing into cars or jets, these age-old enemies have transformed into a brand new form: collectible cards.

Following in the footsteps of other Mobage CCGs (like the hugely popular Rage of Bahamut) Transformers Legends lets you collect, combine, and do battle with your favourite bots from the Transformers universe.

Having dabbled briefly with Transformers Legends, it's fair to say that its production values are at the upper end of the TCG spectrum.

In fact, the art is great (complete with accelerometer-powered faux 3D card viewing options). The game's menus are pretty snazzy, too, and a lot more intuitive than some of the competition's GUIs.

When it comes to the gameplay itself, though, Transformers Legends plays it pretty safe. You'll be scanning areas for new bots, combining cards, and watching battles play out with minimal input on your part.

Still, it looks like there's plenty here to keep TCG enthusiasts - and Transformers fans - occupied for the foreseeable future.

You can grab Transformers Legends on iOS [download] and Android [download] for free now.
