The Book of Renatus is a rhythm action game set in a fictional, dark fantasy-themed renaissance period.
You play as Renatus, a man who, for reasons you'll discover as you make your way through the different story chapters, has been given a second chance at life.
You control the game entirely with swipesswiping in time to the music (you can use your own tracks) to kill enemies until the level ends.
The problem is, there are no obvious audio clues, so you're left guessing on which beat you have to attack. On top of that the controls are unresponsive at best.
The fact that you're pointed towards an instructional video before you even begin demonstrates just how unintuitive The Book of Renatus really is.
