Survive the night and lead a tribe in The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands as it finally reaches Android

It's been 16 months since The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands released on iOS to decent acclaim. Now, finally, Android gamers can get their hands on the survival-strategy game, and there's even a seven-day demo available to download.

The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands is a fusion of strategy and survival. It's a simple-looking game which you can peel back layer after layer of to reveal more complex mechanics.

What starts off with you gathering enough wood to stay warm escalates to a fully fledged war against the nightmarish creatures which lure beyond the bounds of your encampment. Even within the first seven days, as you can sample with the free trial version, you'll go from being an unarmed worker in the wastes to the leader of a gang of miners, guards and wood cutters.

And if you keep going then, much like Kingdom: New Lands or A Dark Room, the game takes the worker management to an outstanding pace as the odds stack up. However, those other two games feel like they grow with you, while The Bonfire feels like it advances with or without you, and every time that it escalates it feels as though it does so unexpectedly.

This all comes together to create a need to balance food for your people, weapons to protect you, and materials to advance technology. A balance of all three is required to make sure that you can keep your people strong enough to win against the odds.

You can find The Bonfire: Forsaken land on Google Play or over on the App Store. It is also available over on Steam too.
