Help protect the environment with Talking Tom Gold Run and My Talking Angela 2’s Green Game Jam 2023 events

Outfit7 is giving players even more reasons to love its virtual pet games this week, with the multinational publisher joining Green Game Jam 2023. Every day from June 1st until June 12th, and then every weekend for the rest of June, My Talking Tom Gold Run and My Talking Angela 2 are both running in-game events that tie in with the United Nations backed event which aims to raise funding and awareness for environmental causes.

First launched in 2020 by the Playing for the Planet Alliance, the Green Game Jam has been bringing together some of the most prominent games studios in an effort to support conservation initiatives across the world. Last year’s edition saw over 2.5 million trees planted as part of its drive towards decarbonisation and deforestation, and this year’s event is aiming to go even further with a target of raising $1 million dollars to protect three endangered ecosystems in the Himalayas, Amazon, and Western Indian Ocean.
Over 40 companies will be taking part who, alongside Outfit7, will be running a number of related events across their most popular titles.

Grow & Go with My Talking Tom Gold Run

Starting today, Talking Tom Gold Run fans can join the “Grow & Go” event, where you’ll be tasked with collecting water droplets to provide vital nourishment for your in-game tree. As you help your gardening project grow, you’ll see endangered animals from the Amazon appear and in-game treats and currencies given to you as reward for your conservation efforts. And, if you wish to see your tree sprout a little bit faster, you can use the promo code “TREE” for 300 extra water tokens.

Those who took part in last year’s Grow & Go event for Earth Day might recall it was such a success that Outfit7 were able to plant 50,000 trees after donating all of the revenue generated from in-app purchases during the event, so make sure to spread the word and help make the latest Grow & Go effort even more of a success.

Flower Power with My Talking Angela 2

My Talking Angela 2 is letting its titular superstar show off her green thumb with a brand new Balcony. With this feature players can help Talking Angela grow beautiful flowers during its Flower Power event in the hope of attracting bees - Mother Nature's most important workers and a vital component of the Amazon’s ecosystem. You can also boost your gardening efforts during the event by using the promo code “BEE” for 2,000 extra coins.

A commitment to positive change

Outfit7 has been extremely active in recent years with its philanthropic endeavours and equally vocal in its belief that game companies have a duty to promote positive change in the world. Xinyu Qian, CEO of Outfit7, recently commented that “joining Green Game Jam 2023 is a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact in the world. Both in-game events provide an engaging and fun way for players to learn about the importance of preserving the Amazon rainforest, and to inspire them to take action to protect it.“

On top of the in-game events, Outfit7 is also pledging $60,000 to Re:wild, a non-profit organization that protects and restores the wild. They work closely with the Atelopus Survival Initiative, which is dedicated to protecting the harlequin toad, one of the most threatened groups of amphibians in the Amazon rainforest, and indeed in the whole world.
