Beloved classic Taboo is landing on mobile devices later this year, bringing tons of tabletop mayhem to friends and families worldwide. Developer and publisher Marmalade Game Studio's Taboo - Official Party Game is taking the word guessing game to both iOS and Android devices, featuring in-game video chat functions to enable loads of multiplayer goodness no matter where you are in the world.

Taboo is a test of vocabulary prowess as players duke it out in a contest to see who can guess the most words correctly. The catch is that players must be able to describe whatever is written on their card without making use of any taboo word, all against a ticking clock. In the digital version of the game, players can team up in person in the Local Party Mode (for 2-8 players), or play against friends across the globe in the Online Video Mode with up to 6 players. It's certainly a creative way to get the party going even when you're all staying safe in the comforts of your own home.

At Marmalade we love bringing people together through games. For us, it’s all about giving people a reason to connect, and Taboo is a brilliant game for parties and gatherings," says Cristina Mereuta, CEO at Marmalade Game Studio. "It’s fun, smart, and with our famous in-game video feature it’s perfect for mobile. We can’t wait for players to get caught-up in this party favourite, wherever they are.”

Available at a premium price of £2.49 with no pesky ads or pop-ups that ruin everyone's concentration, Taboo can be downloaded from the iOS App Store or on the Google Play Store for Android devices.
