Tony Hawk has announced that a new skateboarding game is heading to mobile and console in 2015 on his Twitter account.

"I’m currently working with Activision on a console game for 2015 (along with a new mobile game). I think fans of THPS series will be hyped," the tweet reads.

Surprisingly, this upcoming game isn't Tony Hawk's Shred Session, which we previewed earlier in the year. No, apparently that's now "on hold indefinitely," according to what Activision told Polygon.

Shred Session was, essentially, an endless runner played from an over-the-shoulder third-person view with added skateboarding tricks. It was alright.

"Some levels are about scoring as many points as you can on a half-pipe, while others see you trying to replicate another skater's tricks as you roll down the game's three-lane corridors," we explained in our preview.

Hopefully, then, what Hawk and Activision are putting together next year is a little closer to the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games that we've come to love on consoles over the years.

You never know. We'll have more details about this upcoming game for you as soon as we hear of them.
