Subway Surfers takes the endless runner into the real world to celebrate its 11th anniversary

SYBO is celebrating 11 years of Subway Surfers by bringing the popular endless runner into the real world. Via its Hoverboard Hunt event, the game kicks things off on May 15th until June 5th, letting players score cool in-game goodies when they visit certain landmarks in real life.

In particular, Subway Surfers is bringing iconic landmarks from Copenhagen such as the Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen Airport, Creative Denmark, Royal Danish Library (The Black Diamond), and BLOX onto centre stage. Every location will offer a Subway Surfers-inspired artwork with a QR code that players can scan to claim their goodies within the game.

The in-game World Tour, on the other hand, will also put Copenhagen front and centre with the same Hoverboard Hunt destinations within the endless runner.

"We’ve long used Subway Surfers’ anniversary to celebrate our Danish roots and connect with our fanbase through fresh, interactive content," says Mathias Gredal Nørvig, CEO of SYBO. "This year, we wanted to take a step further and give our players the opportunity to engage with the game outside of their mobile devices. We’re honoured to partner with some of the most esteemed landmarks in Copenhagen to bring the Subway Surfers universe to the real world for the very first time."

"At Tivoli, we are always excited to see other renowned Copenhagen-based entertainment brands focused on promoting our city, so we are happy to be featured among other iconic destinations on the Hoverboard Hunt," says Niels Folmann, Chief Commercial Officer of Tivoli. "We hope this will inspire even more Danish and foreign guests to visit Tivoli, which can now be experienced not only in real life, but also within the Subway Surfers mobile game!"

Subway Surfers is available to download on the iOS App Store and on the Google Play Store for Android devices. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
