Capcom and LG have announced a deal that will see the former’s hit brawler Street Fighter IV come exclusively to the latter’s ‘HD’ smartphones due later this year.

The deal is expected to last three months, and marks the first time the series has appeared on Android, a good year and a bit after the original iOS version landed on the App Store.

There’s been no word on which version of the iOS games will be ported across, but we’re hoping it’s the online-enabled Volt rather than the original game.

Interestingly, LG’s CEO Dr Jong-seok Park has revealed that "LG’s soon-to-be-unveiled HD display technology will give Street Fighter fans a whole new reason to play the game again".

For Android owners who don’t intend to upgrade to LG’s upcoming HD Android handsets with the mysterious new screen, Street Fighter IV will also be available for other high-end phones three months after the LG deal begins.
