After a week-long delay on top of a few other delays throughout the year, the 1.5 update for the farming life simulator Stardew Valley has finally quasi-soft launched on both iOS and Android. We’ll call it a soft launch because it’s somewhat limited in availability to only certain players, and is mostly being put out there for bug testing and to confirm it can be fully launched later.

In case you aren’t familiar, Stardew Valley is a massive indie hit that puts you in the shoes of a citizen of Pelican Town as your own character who abandons their day job to take over their deceased grandfather’s farm, and in doing so, you begin a new life as a farmer in a small town.

It features a ton of social mechanics ranging from making new friends to even falling in love, and as you do so, you progressively unlock new cutscenes with the involved parties and get to experience their stories as you learn more about both the town and its inhabitants, all while farming your own crops to make money and whatnot.

As for this update, it’s been out on the console and PC ports of the game since December 2020, so it’s clear to see why so many mobile players have desired it. This patch also adds an absolute boatload of content, which you can check out in the patch notes, all of which bring in a ton of new stuff to experience within Pelican Town.

And now, mobile players can finally experience the update, even if it's in an earlier form that’s potentially more buggy and slightly less accessible. It’s a great start to what some players consider the full experience of Stardew, so it’s worth a peek.

If you’d like to check it out yourself, you can purchase Stardew Valley for only $4.99 at either of the links below!
