You're a fat ninja with springs on his feet, and pressing and holding the screen winds up these springs. Releasing causes you to leap forward according to how much tension you've put into them.
It's up to you to judge the right amount of tension to get you to the next tiny platform, the distance and height of which varies considerably.
This is a devilishly tricky game to master, but core spring-winding mechanic makes it much worthier of repeated play than most other games of this type.
