We told you earlier this month that you can pre-order a SIM-free 32GB version of Sony's forthcoming Xperia S phone from online retailer Clove, with an expected release date of March 5th.

According to fellow retailer Play.com, however, the Android-powered device will hit its virtual store shelves on January 30th.

It's doesn't look to be a mistake, either, as Play.com has confirmed the release date to website The Inquirer.

The Sony Xperia S, which Play.com is offering for £449.99, features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch display, 32GB of storage, and an impressive 12-megapixel camera.

It'll arrive pre-loaded with Google's Gingerbread OS, with an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich expected sometime in mid-2012.
