Two new PlayStation classic titles have made their way to the Xperia Play: the legendary futuristic racer WipEout and third-person shoot-'em-up Syphon Filter 3.

I've been to the Year 3000

Originally released in 1995, WipEout allows you to experience the world of F3600 anti-gravity racing by piloting a number of craft around six high-speed tracks.

You'll be up against eight fast and boisterous opponents, each with wild weapons and an earnest desire to destroy you.

Long-time fans of the series will recognise the familiar power-up pads that litter each track, giving you shields, turbo boosts, missiles, and other disruptive goodies.

You can grab it now from the Android Market for £3.99.

Pump it up

Syphon Filter 3 follows special agents Gabe Logan and Lian Xing, who are accused of trying to spread the fatal Syphon Filter virus.

However, when the trail of treason leads back to your former employer - known as The Agency - you set off to stop them in their tracks.

This is done, naturally, with a selection of death-bringing weapons and gadgets, frequent explosions, and a quick trigger-finger.

Syphon Filter 3 was on one of the last big releases of the PS1 era.

It's also £3.99.
