Sony Ericsson is teaming up with 3D development platform Unity to bring Unity-made games to the gaming-focused Xperia Play Android.

In the partnership, Sony Ericsson will feature Unity-made games through its 'games recommender application' (presumably the future PlayStation Store), while Unity will encourage its wealth of developers to target the Xperia Play.

The first games to come out of this deal are Racer by Luma Arcade, Guerilla Bob by Angry Mob Studios, and AirAttack HD by Art in Games. All of which have been optimised for the platform, through a special API created by Unity, and will be available on the device near launch.

The Xperia Play is the first device that Unity has supported pre-launch, and Unity Technologies is the first game development platform Sony Ericsson has partnered with.

The Xperia Play is a PlayStation Certified Android with dedicated gaming buttons and access to the PS Suite. It's out later this spring.
