SEGA, the Japanese multinational video game developer has recently partnered up with food and beverage industry giant Dannon to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Sonic. The partnership will feature both Sonic the Hedgehog and Danimals’ mascot, Bongo.

Bongo is the official mascot of Dannon’s special themed smoothie and yoghurt subsidiary, Danimal. Bongo is an imaginary character who lives in a magical treehouse and is quite popular among the kids as he fulfils their wishes.

For the first time, players can now customize the characters in the Sonic Dash mobile game, which can be easily done by simply downloading the app via QR codes. The codes are found on special Sonic Dash branded Danimals packs or players can visit their respective app stores and get it from there as well.

Dannon will now feature Sonic in its Danimals products, specifically in its high selling products such as smoothies and other pouch packages. In addition, Bongo is now a playable character in the endless runner for a limited period of time.

Also, players who manage to collect all the four birthday-themed items on track can claim Pirate Sonic and Captain Shadow along with the exclusive Danimals smoothie pack.

Discussing the partnership between SEGA and Dannon, Kallie Goodwin, Vice President of Danone Family and Wellness Brands said: "Danimals is thrilled to team up with SEGA to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog," "Having Bongo as a playable character within Sonic Dash is a first for both Danimals and SEGA. We think Sonic and Bongo are the perfect pairings of friends – both are a little mischievous and both bring kids into a high energy world of unlimited possibilities. We are excited to be part of this milestone and to continue bringing kids nutritious and delicious snacks together with fun adventures."

Sonic Dash is now available on the App Store and Google Play. It is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
