Ex Plus Alpha's Snes9x EX emulator has been yanked from the Android Market by Google. This is, according to the search giant, due to "a violation of the Developer Content policy".

Believed to be one of the better SNES emulators on the Market, Snes9x EX contains some pretty nifty features, such as the ability to play multiplayer games using a Wiimote or Classic Controller.

Ex Plus Alpha - due to Google's rules - is now unable to resubmit the app to the Android Market, at least with the same package name. The developer can submit the emulator under a different title, but this come with the risk of a permanent ban.

This isn't the first time Google has decided to pull a popular emulator from its digital store, of course, with PSX4Droid, Gensoid, and N64oid, all meeting the same fate.

Snes9x EX is still available to download from the developer's website as a free .apk file.
