E3 2012: Skylanders Giants confirmed for ‘mobile devices’ as well as 3DS

We already knew that the next entry in the Skylanders series, Skylanders Giants, would be heading to the 3DS, but today Activision has confirmed that 'mobile devices' will also be getting in on the action later this year.

Skylanders Giants appears to be a direct sequel to the best-selling console/toy crossover title, with the press release promising more enemies to battle, areas to explore, puzzles to solve, and – yes – Skylanders to collect. Sixteen, in fact.

No Vita

Activision is promising ‘advanced integration’ of the game across all formats this time around, which is as mysterious as it is vague.

One device that won’t be getting in on the action, however, is the PS Vita, which is notable by its absence.

Skylanders Giants will be out on pretty much every other system later this year.
