Shironeko Golf is set to collaborate with the extremely popular anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion

Shrioneko Golf, the anime-based golfing simulator, has begun its very first collaboration since launch, and for their first, they’ve chosen one of the most recognisable brands under the sun. The dramatic golfing simulation title has decided to host their first crossover with the incredibly popular anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion, bringing in two new playable characters and a ton of cosmetics for players to collect!

Shrioneko Golf is a relatively new entry into the golfing genre, and very likely the first ever to use an anime art style to do it. Technically, it’s a spin-off of a relatively successful Japanese property, but they’re so disconnected from one another aside from sharing characters that knowledge of the series is not required in the slightest. Instead, this is a simple jump-in golfing experience that mixes in RPG elements with the sport too.

So while a collaboration with an anime series about giant mechs and existentialism may seem out of place, it’s not unusual to see most anime-based mobile games end up crossing streams with NGE as a whole as it’s one of the biggest names amongst that form of media. Pretty much anyone who’s watched any anime in their life knows Asuka and Rei, so most games are always dying to get such a huge name attached to themselves.

And with this collaboration, players will specifically be able to play as Asuka and Rei too! Alongside this, there’s also a new course for players to play that is themed after the anime, and they’ll be able to roll on the new gacha banner for a variety of cosmetic items that all reference the anime in some form such as the plug suits, which were the outfits every pilot wore in the anime.
