DrinkBox Studios made Guacamelee! Guacamelee! is ace, so as soon as we heard the dev was working on a mobile game we all got a bit giddy and had a dance around. We're a silly bunch.

The game is called Severed and it's a swipey slidey adventure action game with a stunning art style.

And as the name suggests, it's all about cutting bits of your foes off. And then sticking them on yourself, which is a bit icky.

You'll be duking it out in Infinity Blade style slash-offs, using gestures to blast out magic, and learning the different attack patterns of the various creatures you're trying to smack and slice.

You should definitely take a moment out of your hectic schedule to check out the trailer below. It gives a pretty good idea of the sort of style Drinkbox is aiming for.

It certainly looks fresh, and that's something that doesn't happen very often with mobile games. And the soundtrack is ace. We're having a bit of a dance around again.

Severed is heading to mobile devices, although which ones specifically isn't clear.

I'd guess Android, iOS, and Windows Phone though. It could make its way to PS Vita, 3DS, and silly VR headsets too.

The bad news is the game isn't scheduled for release until next year, which I think we can all agree is far too long.

We'll keep you posted with more information as and when we get it, but in the meantime, check out the amazing screenshots in the gallery at the top of the page.
