Scoreloop, one of the major gaming networks on iOS, has begun an initiative entitled ‘Go Android’ to help port iPhone titles over to Google's smartphone OS.

The company is offering the service for free to developers who might not have the resources or the prior inclination to port games themselves. It'll focus on games that have strong social or freemium leanings.

Geared and Toobz are the first apps to be ported. Geared’s creator, Bryan Mitchell, was exceptionally happy with the project, saying, “It’s been terrific”.

Scoreloop’s program follows OpenFeint’s offer two days ago to pay developers to port to the Google OS.
