And it's a bit rubbish

Court documents reveal Samsung's best-selling Android phone

Another day, another strange story surfaces from the ongoing Apple vs Samsung court case.

This time, it concerns the South Korean manufacturer's best-selling phone in the US from June 2010 to June 2012, and it's fair to say it's probably not the one you're expecting. In fact, it's probably not one you've even heard of.

While Samsung shifted around 4 million members of the Galaxy S II family in that two-year period, the firm's best-selling individual phone is actually the Galaxy Prevail. Samsung managed to ship nearly 2.3 million units of this entry-level smartphone, which runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

The Galaxy Prevail, which sports a 3.2-inch 320x480 screen and a 2-megapixel camera, certainly isn't the best phone that Samsung makes, and it's only available on Boost Mobile.

It's interesting to note that it's not necessarily Samsung's biggest hitters that are pulling in the punters, but rather lower-profile blowers like the Fascinate, the Intercept, the Captivate, and the Infuse 4G. Each of these devices has been snapped up over a million times.

Before you ask, by the way, the numbers for Samsung's latest flagship phone, the Gold Award-winning Galaxy S III, weren't included in this sales comparison.
