Tired of your phone? Send it skywards with S.M.T.H.

There comes a time when all of us must part ways with our beloved mobile devices, but how do you give an indispensable friend and gaming companion the proper send off?

Sure, you could resell it to fund the purchase of your next phone - but if you're looking for the smartphone equivalent of a Viking funeral, you'd be remiss not to download S.M.T.H.

Standing for Send Me To Heaven, S.M.T.H. is a free Android game that encourages you to take your phone and throw it as high as humanly possible.

Catching the device is - strictly speaking - optional, but recommended if you want to try for multiple high score attempts.

Flying high

Droidgamers reports that S.M.T.H. was initially submitted to Apple, but rejected for 'encouraging behavior that could result in damage to the user's device'.

We can't say as we fault Apple here since your scores are tied directly to the height of each throw.

If you're interested in showing off your phone-chucking skills to friends and strangers, you can enable the GPS on your phone and compete in daily top 10s, weekly top 10s, and worldwide top 10 competitions.

Obviously, we don't recommend playing this game with any phone that you're not prepared to lose.

If you're daring enough to give S.M.T.H. a try, please be sure that the area around you is free of innocent bystanders, pets, glass tabletops, or other phones that you'd prefer not to have smashed to pieces.
