CES 2013: Vector Unit confirms summer release date for awesome-looking Riptide GP 2

CES 2013 has delivered big for Riptide GP fans, with footage of the jet ski racer's long-awaited sequel finally seeing the light of day on the Las Vegas show floor.
Just like it did on Monday with a demonstration of Madfinger's Dead Trigger 2, chip specialist Nvidia used a demo of Vector Unit's forthcoming stunt-packed aquatic racer to show off its new Tegra 4-powered Android joypad-cum-console, Project Shield.
And there's no denying it: Riptide GP 2 is a looker.
Even in its incomplete state, the footage (below) represents a marked step-up from Riptide GP 2's predecessor.
Besides the improved character models, water effects, and dynamic lighting (powered by the new Vector Engine 4, incidentally), Riptide GP 2 will give Tegra 4 users exclusive visual flourishes such as real-time shadows.
Dive under that pretty surface, however, and we're told you can find a new career mode, with races involving up to eight riders at a time, plus a range of jet ski customisation options.
Multiplayer is also on the feature list, thankfully.
So, when can we expect to get wet and wild (gross!) with Riptide GP 2 on iOS and Android?
Well, Vector Unit is going with a tentative "summer 2013" launch window for this lovely-looking racing sim. I can't ruddy wait.
