Contribute to cancer research by playing cute free puzzler Reverse The Odds

How do you fancy helping Cancer Research UK out while playing a cute and free puzzle game?

You can do so by playing Channel 4's Reverse The Odds on iOS and Android.

It has over 350 levels for you to play across which you restore the colour to a greying wasteland. Yeah, it's a not-so-subtle metaphor for battling against cancer cells.

The levels involve fighting against an AI opponent to hold control over the most cells in a grid. Your opponent has the grey Odds while you have the colourful ones.

It's played by tapping on a cell to place a colourful Odd. You can only place them where it aligns vertically, horizontally, or diagonally to another one of your Odds, and it must have grey Odds between them.

Those grey Odds between your two colourful ones will then be turned to your side. Your opponent does the same thing, and so it's a constant back-and-forth competition.

It's a little hard to explain without showing you, but the game does it well in its tutorial - it's easy enough to pick up.

Anyway, to play the levels you have to have a potion. You can only get these by waiting for a timer to count down or analyzing a cancer cell slide.

You have to count the number of bright blue cells in the slide and then submit an answer. If it matches what the majority of other players answered then you get a potion.

You don't have to worry if you get an answer wrong as it doesn't affect anyone's diagnosis or treatment. The answers only go towards future cancer research.

You can download Reverse The Odds on the App Store [download] and Google Play [download] for free right now.
