Mario got us started, Kirby took it to another level, and now ZPLAY’s latest offering Reflection keeps alive a very simple and satisfying tradition in gaming - jumping.
It’s not fancy, and it’s not going to bombard you with endless menus – but it is fun. Reflection is an endless runner that’s simple to grasp, both in its mechanics and graphics. The aim of the game is pretty straightforward too, with it asking you to keep tapping the screen to jump over various sets of obstacles.
But this is where it gets clever – you’re not just looking out for your little character above the surface, but you also have to watch out for their reflection too. Obstacles will appear on either side of the level’s surface and you must jump them both - or it’s hello to the game over screen.
As the game progresses the patterns of obstacles naturally get more challenging to traverse as well, so you’re always on the edge of your seat frantically tapping away to stay in the game. Along the way you’ll also pick up gems to help you unlock new characters.
With its minimalist style, simple controls and pleasantly ambient soundtrack Reflection offers an addictive rhythmic gaming experience that’s sure to have you tapping for hours on end.
