Rainbow Six Mobile set to launch its second phase of beta testing later this year

The highly anticipated free-to-play tactical shooter Rainbow Six Mobile is set to begin its second phase of closed beta testing after the first was hosted back in September of last year. This mobile iteration of the successful PC and console-exclusive shooter of the same name has fans of the franchise eager to get their hands on it, and some lucky gamers will be able to do so in the spring of this year!

Rainbow Six has been a household name for shooter fans for a long time, and while we could dig into the deep history of the decades-old franchise, let’s focus on the modern one. Rainbow Six Siege in particular is the current release of the series, and this mobile version seeks to emulate a lot of what makes Siege specifically so successful.

And what makes it so successful, you might ask? Well, Rainbow Six Siege features some super in-depth tactical gameplay along with a focus on environmental destruction and character abilities. The destruction of maps specifically makes the game very special, allowing players to tear apart parts of the maps they’re playing on to create unique angles of engagement and sneaky little peek holes to take pot shots at their opponents.

Combine this with the character abilities, which can range from health buffs to poison traps and much much more, and you’ve got a pretty unique tactical first-person shooter. Rainbow Six Mobile is hoping to take some of these mechanics and transfer them to our pockets. Hopefully, developer Ubisoft will be successful in this endeavour.

Come spring of this year, we’ll find out for ourselves if they managed to pull off this daunting task. If you’re interested in the game, keep an eye on the official website for closed beta test sign-ups when they launch later this year!
