Rome Total War: Alexander will march its way onto iOS and Android in October

Feral Interactive has been up to their usual porting antics once again. This time they're bringing Rome Total War – Alexander to phones after previously porting the game to iPad in 2017. You won't have to wait too long to play it on your smartphone either, it'll arrive for iOS and Android on 24th October.

Rome Total War – Alexander is a strategy game that serves as an expansion to the original version of Rome. It will see players assume the role of Alexander the Great as he ascends the throne and sets off to conquer the Persian Empire. He's an ambitious lad.

The game will start in Greece where you'll first have to unify its different states. Once you've done that it's off to Central Asia, taking out any enemies who try to stop your march. It's believed that Alexander is the toughest test of a Rome player's skills, if you've never played vanilla Rome or its other expansions Barbarian Invasion, you might find it quite difficult.

This mobile port will include all of the features of the desktop version of Alexander so you don't have to worry about getting a watered-down product. But, naturally, it will have a reworked UI that's designed with mobile devices in mind.

Porting a complex strategy game to mobile devices is no easy feat. But, Feral Interactive has plenty of experience in this area having previously created excellent ports for Rome Total War itself and very recently Tropico. So it's not unreasonable to expect this version of Alexander to meet that high standard.

Rome Total War – Alexander will be available on the App Store and Google Play on 24th October. It will be a premium game that will cost £4.99/$4.99. Note the App Store link provided is for the currently available iPad version. For a list of compatible mobile devices see below.
