A blast from the past (Updated: Also on Xperia Play)

[Update] Ubisoft's Prince of Persia Classic turns back the sands of time on Android
Updated on September 14th, at 10:00: We've since found that this game is also optimised for the Xperia Play. Fans of physical buttons rejoice.

Proving you can't keep a good Arabian royal down, Prince of Persia Classic has just leapt from the lofty ledge of iOS to land gracefully on the Android platform.

Essentially a reskin of the 1989 original, Ubisoft has decided to give Android users the chance to experience one of the most beloved games in history from a fresh perspective.

Combining the level design and physics of the old game with the visuals of the Sands of Time console reboot, Ubisoft has added new depth to the prince's palatial surroundings.

The graphics aren't the only new feature, either. There are two extra game modes to choose from: Time Attack and Survival.

Both of these modes demand you complete the game within 60 minutes. Survival, however, requires you to reach the end without dying. Yeah. Good luck with that.

Rewind

PoP Classic also borrows the time-rewind feature popularised by the 2003 series, allowing you to 'revive' the prince by turning back the clock.

With a trio of different control schemes, and a host of achievements to boot, you can liberate Prince of Persia Classic from Google Play for £1.99 / $2.99 now [Google Play].
