Each week, we get early access to an exciting upcoming game and give it to a select few hardened mobile gaming experts that make up the App Army. We then feed these thoughts back to you, our audience, so you know whether it's worth your time or not. Gamer to gamer.

Today we're looking at Post Brutal, an ultra violent zombie slaying RPG where users can customise the main character to look and sound just like you.

Grab the game on the App Store and Google Play.

It's not too awful. I mean there are sound issues but otherwise it's not bad to play. I'm not a fan of games with a lot of blood and gore, and I've never been any good at them.

I wouldn't let my grandchildren play this but Post Brutal does have some nifty features, including the ability to add your face into the game.

If you're all about zombie killing this might be the one for you, however at over two gigabytes it may be a luxury that you can't afford.

David Albertson

An ambitious effort from a development team consisting of two people. There's plenty in the game to customise including the characters voice, appearance, UI and controls to fit your playing style.

The game might look quite basic for some peoples taste, but for zombie fans this might scratch that insatiable itch.

Glenn Goldberg

Post Brutal is an interesting take on a zombie survival game, but I'm not crazy about it. The gameplay is pretty basic to say the least, but it can get a little intense sometimes. The graphics are also pretty clunky and old fashioned, which makes it look like a game from the 90's.

The standard UI is overcrowded and customisation comes at a cost. Post Brutal has RPG elements, but I can't put my finger on any, it just simply missed the mark.

Kainen Ryan

On paper this is one of the best games ever. The customisation is a great gimmick which allows you to make your character look and sound just like yourself. However this is where the positives seem to end, it looks like the original Max Pain and the voice acting screams B-movie.

Its plot and story are not the best I've seen, and the gore is actually on the light side.

To put it simply it works, it does not excel in any area other then customising. But if you can put up with, the low quality graphics, the bad acting and basic RPG elements then its hours of fun.

Oksana Ryan

My first impressions were quite mixed. It took an age to master the controls because there was simply too much clutter. After some practice things fell into place. Once I realised the game is a hack and slash it became easier to play.

I had to turn the sound off because it got annoying quite fast, but otherwise it really isn't that bad a game. The gore isn't too realistic, but I would recommend Post Brutal.
