Ever the master of keeping its fans on tenterhooks, PopCap has been releasing info about its Android plans in well-calculated drips.
First we got the
exclusive news that it would be releasing
Plants vs Zombies and
Peggle onto the platform in 'early 2011'. Then, recently, we found some
casual snaps of the games running on an Android device, hinting that a dual release might perhaps be imminent.
Now
VG247 has managed to eke some more information out of the house of
Bejeweled. It might not be what you Android-owning PopCap fans wanted to hear, though.
Both
Plants vs Zombies and
Peggle on Android “will release in summer 2011.”
That’s not exactly what we’d call ‘early 2011’ – more ‘mid-2011’ – but at least we’re honing in on a specific release date. Patience, Android gamers, patience.
