Pokemon Go will celebrate Johto next week with a host of Pokemon from the region appearing in the wild

Pokemon Go will celebrate Johto next week with a host of Pokemon from the region appearing in the wild

Pokemon Go is currently celebrating the Hoenn region in its ongoing build-up to the Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto. But it's already time to look ahead to the next region that will be in the spotlight, Johto. This event will take place from January 26th to 27th.

During that time, a plethora of Pokemon from the region will appear more frequently in the wild. This will include Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Mareep, Hoppip, Aipom, Sunkern, Yanma, Murkrow, Gligar, Snubbull, Slugma and Miltank. Among those, there is a chance that you might find a Shiny Milktank.

Meanwhile, Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Wooper, Tyrogue, Smoochum, and Larvitar will be hatching from 5km Eggs whilst Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Chinchou, Mareep, Sudowoodo, and Miltank can be encountered by completing event-exclusive Field Research.

Johto Pokemon will also be appearing in Raids too, with one-star Raids being populated by Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Mareep, Marill, and Larvitar. Three-star Raids, meanwhile, will feature Togetic, Espeon, Umbreon, Skarmory, and Miltank. Entei, Raikou and Suicune will also appear in five-star Raids on different dates.

There will also be a Johton-themed Collection Challenge that will task you with catching Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Sudowoodo, Sunkern, Murkrow, Smeargle, Miltank, and Larvitar. Doing so will net you 15 Poké Balls, 10 Ultra Balls, and an Incense.

Finally, Pokemon will exclusive attacks from 2018 Community Events can also be obtained by evolving certain Pokemon during the week. This includes

  • Evolve Bayleef for a Meganium that knows Frenzy Plant
  • Evolve Quilava for a Typhlosion that knows Blast Burn
  • Evolve Flaafy for an Ampharos that knows Dragon Pulse
  • Evolve Pupitar for a Tyranitar that knows Smack Down

Pokemon Go is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
