Trading is live in Pokemon GO but you're probably not a high enough level to access it yet
For now, anyway
Earlier this week we found out that Pokemon GO would start rolling out a long-awaited Trading system sometime this week. Well, the penny's dropped but if you're a lower lever you can't make use of the feature just yet.
If you missed that article, basically Pokemon GO stated it'd be introducing a 'Friends' feature (where you can become besties for in-game benefits), Gift-giving (for when you're feeling generous), and Trading (to get your friends' things).Attention! Friends, gifting, and trading are now live for those level 30 to 40 Trainers! Stay tuned as we will be gradually rolling out these features to other levels soon. pic.twitter.com/iHGsqrUMYM — Pokémon GO (@PokemonGoApp) June 21, 2018
Alright, the Trading system actually requires willing participants on both sides, but it's a brilliant opportunity to finally get trading. Doing so successfully gets you some free Candy for your troubles, and gives you the chance to pick up an elusive Pokemon or maybe shed a few of your own.
As announced on Pokemon GO's Twitter earlier today, the feature is currently rolling out for Trainers who are Levels 30 to 40. This bypasses what was originally said in their blog post - that you only had to be Level 10 to use it - but it looks like Niantic still intends to push the update further.
How long it'll take before Level 10s can start Trading, however, I have no idea. Let's hope it's sooner rather than later.
