Pokemon Masters adds another Unova starter Sync Pair with Hilda and Tepig

Pokemon Masters has been fairly relentless with its content lately, having already added three new Sync Partners this month. Now we're getting yet another. This time around it's Hilda and Tepig. Their addition to the game will coincide with a new EX Challenge and a new Story Event called The Girl in Black and White.

That Event name is a reference to Hilda being the female protagonist of the Nintendo DS games Pokemon Black and White. She has been teamed up with Tepig, another of the Unova starter Pokemon. They – like all of the new partners added so far – are a 5-star Sync Pair. You'll also eventually be able to evolve Tepig to its final stage - Emboar.

Her story event is replacing Blue and Pidgeot's and will be available from now until 17th October. So you'll have plenty of time to complete her and Tepig's tale before the event expires. You'll need to have completed at least chapter 5 of the main story to tackle this one – as is usually the case for all events up to this point.

Unlike the story events of the game's main campaign though you won't be able to obtain Hilda and her fiery pig pal by completing that story. You'll still need to hope you're lucky enough to receive them through the Sync Pair Scout. It's customary for there to be a specific Spotlight Scout each time a new Sync Pair is released and this time is no different. Hilda's Spotlight Scout will be available until 17th October where you'll have an increased chance of obtaining her.

Finally, there will also be a new EX challenged added to the training area. Here you'll be able to take on Korrina and her Lucario. Beating this challenge will earn you various rewards including 1-star Fire Cloth, Upgrade Thread, Scissors and Needles. You will need to have completed the Challenge Cheren & Hilder & Hilda (Hard) co-op mission to access it though, so if you need a few pals to help you out, check out the comments in our friend code story.

Pokemon Masters is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
