Pokemon Masters' Summer Superstars event is underway, introducing seasonal versions of Steven and Lyra

Two new Seasonal Sync pairs have been added to Pokemon Masters today, as previously teased in the most recent message to players. Their arrival will be accompanied by an event called Summer Superstars, which will run from today until August 17.

Each of the Seasonal Sync Pairs will have their own Spotlight Scout which will also be available until 17th August. The first of them is Steven & Alolan Sandlash who will be a 5-Star Physical Strike duo. Sandslash will have Icicle Spear and Icicle Crash for damage and X Attack for raising his physical attack stat.

He will also have a move called Coolest There Is! which raises both its accuracy and critical-hit rate, with a further boost to the latter in a hailstorm. His passive abilities will cause Sansdlash to summon a hailstorm after using a Sync Move. This will also give the Mouse Pokemon a boost to its move power.

Meanwhile, the other Seasonal Sync Pair will be Lyra & Jigglypuff, a 5-Star Special Strike duo. She has Dazzling Gleam and Play Rough as her attacks alongside Dire Hit + for increasing her critical-hit rate. The fourth move is Solo Act! which charges the move gauge by two normally and by four if the user is asleep.

Similarly, it will raise Jigglypuff's Special and Physical attack normally and sharply if she is asleep. Moreover, it will restore HP and remove the sleep status condition if they have that affliction. Meanwhile, her passives will put an opponent to sleep when a Sync Move is successful and boost her physical and special attack stats occasionally.

To commemorate their arrival, there is a Story Event that will see players collecting travel tokens through battles that can be used to move through the event map. This will net players a variety of training items including a 4-Star Power-Up, 3-Star Power-Up, Strike Move Candy Coin and Co-op Sync Orbs.

There have been a bunch of missions relating to this event added to the Poryphone which simply require you to complete designated areas a set number of times and one that's a little more challenging. Beating these will net the player some Gems and medals. Similarly, there is also a login bonus that will award 100 Gems each day for two weeks.

Pokemon Masters is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
