Shortly after releasing its free-to-play airline simulation Pocket Planes last June, NimbleBit's David Marsh revealed that Pocket Planes was very close to being 'Pocket Trains'.

"The reason we switched to planes was because having to travel along the rail routes felt really limiting, kind of went against the feeling of open exploration and travel we were going for," Marsh said.

In spite of Marsh's above statement, it looks like Pocket Trains WILL be released on iPhone and iPad (and possibly Android) in some shape or form.

David Marsh's brother, Ian, has recently tweeted several images from the upcoming title, you see. Check them out for yourself in our gallery above.

In these lovely-looking images, we can see a bunch of fancy railcars and underwater backdrops. We can also make out rail routes that stretch between Reykjavík in Iceland and Tehran in Iran, passing through the likes of London, Paris, and Munich along the way.

We'll - ahem - relay further information about Pocket Trains to you just as soon as we receive it here at Pocket Gamer Towers.
