Kairosoft - the management game maestro from Japan - has just launched a new horse-flavoured game on Android.

Its name? Pocket Stables.

As ever in a Kairosoft game, you're the overworked manager of some up-and-coming establishment.

This time around, though, it's a ranch for racehorses.

So, instead of hiring game developers or sushi chefs, you're looking for horses. You'll need to find and train nags with the right combination of stamina, speed, and intensity.

You'll enter your horses in races in the hopes of winning prizes. Eventually, you'll be able to compete in bigger and more challenging races on an international scale.

There's also the usual city-building element in Pocket Stables, for you'll want to attract visitors to come and spend some dough at the ice cream stands and gift shops dotted around your ranch.

Unlike Kairosoft's last two smartphone releases - Beastie Bay on iOS and Dream House Days on Android - Pocket Stables is a paid game, without in-app purchases.

Just a one-off £2.99 payment stands between you and the final furlong, then. Giddyup.
